JOHN MUIR LIVED HERE during his formative years. His boyhood homestead, Fountain Lake Farm, and John Muir County Park are located in the southern part of Marquette County. These are part of a National Historic Landmark, memorializing this esteemed founder of the Sierra Club. You can walk in his path, following the John Muir Nature and History Route. Plus, the Ice Age National Scenic Trail routes around Ennis Lake and through John Muir County Park.
